M3Uer

M3Uer is a simple context menu utility that generates M3Us and SFVs for music files (mp3/flac/ape/wav) inside selected directories. It does not act recursively, and will ignore filetypes other than those mentioned.

I got sick of using an SFV tool and M3Uer v.1 right after each other, so I decided to integrate SFV generation into M3Uer, along with a GUI to show progress. Now M3Uer operates differently from the previous version. Instead of working on a group of selected files, M3Uer works on several selected directories at once. It requires a specific arrangement of files, so here is an example.

you have:

c:\music\
c:\music\Some_Group-Their_Album-2006
... some music files
c:\music\Another_Band-And_Another_Album-2005
... some more music files

you would:

  1. Navigate to c:\music in your file manager
  2. Select the folders..
    “Some_Group-Their_Album-2006″
    “Another_Band-And_Another_Album-2005″
  3. Select “Generate M3U and SFV”
  4. Watch as the M3Us and SFVs are generated
    - a checkmark indicates success
    - lack of a checkmark indicates failure

I’m using Troels Jakobsen’s CustomContextMenu (you can grab it from http://subsimple.com/delphi.asp) in addition to my own unit, EasySFV, which encapsulates creation and checking of SFV files. EasySFV will be released soon, at which point the source to M3Uer will be released as well. Until then, download the binary and installer:
